Importer's Notes: The 2006 1er Cru Fourchaume was bottled after 8 months in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks on fine lees. To preserve fruit purity the wine saw no oak aging. 100% Chardonnay, it is full-bodied, with a distinctive stoney minerality. Ripe apple, lemon and grassy notes on the palate; balanced and fresh, with a lingering, tangy finish full of lemon/lime zest and an almost saline quality from the seashell-laden soils.
