WS 91 points: More bass than treble. Full-bodied and voluminous, this delivers subtle, complex shadings of whole-grain bread, coconut and candied fruit, finishing with a distinctive rhubarb preserve aftertaste. It's rich and balanced on the soft side.
IWC 91 points: Light yellow gold. Orange and pear aromas are complemented by notes of vanilla bean and honeysuckle. Silky in texture and nicely precise, with juicy orchard fruit flavors and a tangy note of Meyer lemon. Dry but in no way austere. Blends depth and enery smoothly and finishes with excellent clarity and nervy cut.
Winery notes: The Brut Reserve is a multi-vintage Champagne blended from 35% Chardonnay and 65% Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and includes 40% reserve wine preserved in large vats in the Billecart family cellar. The Brut Reserve always begins with the highest quality fruit (a blend of premier and grand cru) but the skill that Billecart brings to its creation goes far beyond the fruit. This is a wine of great harmony, balance and complexity.
