Wine & Spirits 91 Points: This fruity sauvignon bears an intriguing range of green scents, from kiwi to fennel and shizo. Both lush and fresh, it's a generously textured white for yellowtail sashimi. The 2007 Dashwood Sauvignon Blanc was produced from fruit grown in the Awatere and Wairau Valleys in Marlborough. Blending fruit from both regions benefits the wine with the aromatics from the Wairau Valley component, and a mineral note from the Awatere Valley component. This classically styled wine shows lifted melon, citrus and fresh tropical notes on the nose. These flavors follow through to the richly structured palate, which has a long crisp finish.
