At Spy Valley Winery in New Zealand's Marlborough region, the emphasis on viticultural excellence creates wines that capture the essence of the environment and are classically Marlborough. The 2003 Pinot Noir is deep red in color and has a very complex nose with hints of earth, spice and tar. The palate has plenty of complex flavours up front. The finish introduces more texture by way of soft fruit tannins and a great wood to fruit balance.
