The high elevation of these vineyards, and the low yields produce a remarkably elegant and vibrant Chardonnay with distinctive minerality. This wine, as with previous vintages, was 100% barrel fermented in a mix of new and year old French oak barrels. To preserve the natural acidity in the wine the malolactic fermentation held to 35%. The 2004 Vineyard “8” Chardonnay exhibits complex aromas and flavors of lemon zest, pineapple, toasted almond, and exotic spices. The wine is beautifully balanced and has a long, lingering finish. |
