Winery Notes: Produced from Sangiovese grapes grown on vines averaging 10 years in age. Ruby red with a violet rim, this Chianti reveals the artful mastery of eno-star Carlo Ferrini by combining new world accessibility and power with old world elegance and grace. It is a lusty, full bodied wine with an effusive bouquet of plum, black cherry and currants. Opulent on the palate with jammy plum, dark chocolate and blach cherry fruit, it rewards again on the finish with olive, spice and leather. True to the winemaker's signature, the wine is encompassed in a well-woven mesh of supple tannins that complete the wine, giving it cohesiveness and structure. Wonderful with flank steak, veal chop, game, hearty pastas and pecorino cheese. |
