This wine from Italy's Toscana region is made from Sangiovese Grosso grapes. It has a brick red color with violet tones and is an easy drinking, “new world,” style wine from a traditional family of winemakers. This wine balances the burnt plum fruit on the tip of your tongue with the moderate earth tones on the mid-palate and the tobacco oak flavors on the finish. Sangiovese Grosso is a distant relative to the Sangiovese in Chianti and is aged for three years in the barrel and two years in the bottle to become Brunello.
