Connoisseur's Guide 90 points: Fruitier and yet a tad simpler than its year-older version, this Zin from the Hayne Vineyard is again a deep, generous effort that is both long on optimally-ripened blackberries and gifted with good balance. Over time, it should take on increased complexity and begin to rival its mate, but it tightens up slightly at the back after a big display of frontal fruit, and it deserves to be set aside in the cellar for a couple of years.
Winery notes: Exploding cherry and berry flavors with a hint of spice and chocolate. Big fruit, soft tannins and long supple finish. Elegant as always with beautiful structure. |
